We are looking for a cook for our beautiful childcare centre in Tahunanui. If you know your way around a kitchen, can get creative secretly adding veggies to meals, and love children, we would love to hear from you! As our cook, you will play a vital role in preparing dishes that not only nourish our tamariki but also provide them with the essential energy they need to thrive, learn, and engage in playful activities!
This is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for someone who has a shared passion for food and using nutrition to create new ways that will support physical and mental development within young children.
This is an 18 hour part time role, 3 days a week.
About Us: Currently known as Eden Early Learning, we are joining the Busy Bees Whanau! Our passionate and welcoming team are dedicated to creating fun and engaging environments where our tamariki can thrive. We provide tamariki with the opportunity to follow their own interests through hands-on activities set up by tamariki and kaiako together. Our kitchen is fully equipped with all the tools you need to fill our tamariki's growing bellies!
What are we looking for? • Experienced in cooking for large groups, be it in a childcare centre or other environment
• Able to work well in a fast-paced environment, at times under pressure.
• Fit and active, as this is a busy role
• Excellent at communication and have skills to build rapport with parents & children
• Flexible in approach, but also able to work to a daily schedule
• A real team player with a "can do" attitude
