Porirua City Council is rejuvenating and expanding to prepare for its future growth and continue to develop a resilient, liveable city for our future generations.All about the jobThe Parking Officer is a representative of Porirua City Council who will encounter many ratepayers and visitors to the city on a daily basis. You'll work in a supportive team that understands the challenges of the role.This full-time role will work Monday to Friday, plus some rostered after-hours and Saturday patrols to cover any complaints or city events.As our Parking Officer, you will be responsible for:Monitoring parking in the CBD and Porirua Suburbs and issuing parking tickets as required.Accurately issuing infringements to non-compliant vehicles.Using appropriate technology to take photos and collect additional information to support infringement notices.Providing a customer-focused approach to responding to customer enquiries regarding parking, providing directions or visitor information about the city.Giving evidence in court if needed.All about youIt would be great if you have worked in a similar role and delivered great customer service in a range of situations.You'll need to show us that you are:Great at communicating and have the confidence to engage with Porirua City residents and visitors in a friendly manner.Resilient with the ability to keep calm under pressure, to sustain a high level of energy, motivation, and positivity.Customer focused with a calm and professional manner.Able to demonstrate a willingness to learn, reliable and committed to your mahi.Having a good level of physical fitness and the ability to walk for long periods of time.Having a current and unrestricted Drivers Licence.Experienced with basic Microsoft Office products with intermediate level computer skills.All about Porirua CityOur city is changing and we need skilled people to help make that happen.
