Do you like to be out and about mixing with people? Do you have a natural ability communicating with people? We believe we have NZ's most helpful and positive Parking team and we work hard to ensure that we continue to deserve the title.
A typical day in the Council parking officer role will be out in the community educating and advising motorists and issuing infringement notices for non-compliance with parking legislation and bylaws where necessary.
This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Your focus in this role will include:
Enforcing parking legislation in a fair, helpful and consistent manner.
Assisting the Council in providing vehicle parking area facilities that utilise the available parking space(s) within the city to its maximum advantage.
Promoting good public relations by responding to public enquiries in a courteous and helpful manner.
A high level of political acumen, diplomacy, and customer service is required in this role. You will be a uniformed officer acting as an ambassador for the City at all times while performing your duties. The role involves a lot of walking, so you will need a reasonable level of fitness.
In addition, you will have:
Experience in dealing with people.
Full NZ Drivers Licence is essential.
Ability to interpret Statutes and Bylaws and their practical application.
