The Role / Person If you're a keen walker and enjoy keeping an eye on your step count, we have the job for you! Our team of Parking Officers are looking for an outgoing individual to join them and enforce parking regulations throughout the district. This community facing role is ideal for those who love to be in the public's eye; walking up to a half marathon each day around the beautiful streets of the Timaru District. Day to day, other than providing the community with a friendly smile and directions to the nearest café, you will be able to make appropriate enforcement decisions in unsupervised situations. This role requires an individual with thick skin and excellent resolution skills as you will encounter conflicting situations with members of the public. Duties will include regular parking patrol within the Timaru District, including Temuka and Geraldine; encouraging compliance with parking regulations and the issuing of infringement notices for offences. Bring your strong interpersonal skills, great attention to detail, ability to stay calm in pressured situations and knack for picking up new systems and technology. This is a permanent role and offers 40 hours per week from Monday to Saturday - with 4 hours being undertaken on Saturday and 36 hours from Monday to Friday.
