Gordon Legal is on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated Paralegal with a background in Personal Injury Law to join our close-knit Transport Accidents/TAC team at our Northcote office on a casual basis. We are seeking someone passionate about their work and committed to making a meaningful difference for our clients. The ideal candidate will be available for a minimum of 3 shifts per week. As part of our team, you'll collaborate with like-minded professionals who share your enthusiasm for advocating on behalf of our clients and achieving impactful results.Job tasks and responsibilitiesProvide high-level legal administrative and practice management support to the Partner and Lawyers in the Transport Accident (TAC) team and our clients;Drafting court documents, preparing/compiling briefs, Court books, schedules, letters and correspondence;Filing Court Documents on Citec, Redcrest and Magistrates Court portal;Diary, email and task management;Arrange meetings and appointments;Liaise with clients, law firms, barristers, court staff, insurers, doctors and other third parties;Develop and maintain billing and invoicing systems;General file management and work with the lawyer to advance files and achieve optimal file velocity;Develop, refine and maintain practice management systems and processes;Monitor critical dates to ensure deadlines are met;Handle telephone, general enquiries and requests from clients;Maintain data records and generate reports;Open and close files.Skills and experienceAt least 1 year of personal injury law experience is essential;Empathetic, confident and personable with a genuine interest in Personal Injury Law;Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;High level of professionalism, exceptional client service skills and ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care;Superior organisational and task management skills, ability to manage conflicting priorities and respond to rapidly changing needs of a fast-paced practice;Ability to confidently and professionally communicate with clients, referrers, health professionals, Courts, barristers, lawyers and Government agencies;Technology-savvy and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications;Ability to show initiative;An interest in contributing to developing, maintaining and refining systems and processes within the practice.Why Gordon Legal?At Gordon Legal, we don't just hire employees—we welcome you into a community of progressive, dedicated individuals committed to making a difference through meaningful work.If you're interested in joining our team, please apply with your CV and cover letter.
