Full-time, permanent Nurse Educator role (1 FTE available)
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Our Patient at Risk (PaR) service is seeking a Nurse Educator to join our team. In this role, you will provide professional and clinical leadership, patient care co-ordination, education, and clinical teaching to patients and ward staff, especially relating to the deteriorating patient. You will also work closely with existing members in the PaR team as well as the Simulation Team to provide practical "hands-on" experience in managing various scenarios related to patient deterioration in the ward setting. It is important that you can work autonomously, prioritise workload, and work as part of a supportive senior nursing team committed to effective/evidenced based nursing practice. The successful applicant will have extensive nursing experience and be practicing at a senior level.

Significant recent acute nursing experience
Experience in adult education
Excellent people and project management skills
Innovative mindset and able to network with different stakeholders within the hospital
Post graduate qualifications, preferably to master's level and with a focus on adult education are preferred
Good understanding of Patient Deterioration Programmes and an interest in Quality, Risk, and Safety
Competent in the use of IT systems, e.g. Microsoft Excel and various local databases
Current NZ Nursing Council registration and APC
