Role Purpose We are looking for Four (4) full-time Panel Beaters / Sandblasters to help us take our business to the next level in the automotive panel and refinish environment. We have great career potentials, and you will be an integral part of our growth strategy with plenty of opportunities for you to shine in full function panel beater/sandblaster duties. Your focus will be on ensuring consistent output of auto body work repairs that meet expectations of quality, timeframe and number of repair jobs produced.
You will receive work assignments from Workshop Foreman and must independently determine work methods in accordance with standard automotive panel beating practices. A working knowledge of standard methods and practices, and materials used in of automotive panel beating is required. Skills and experience in the use and operation of automotive panel beating and sandblasting equipment are needed.
The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years' experience in automotive panel beating, thrive in a fast-paced environment, willing to contribute, and enjoy working as part of a successful team.

We Offer

Commencement Date: As soon as possible OR on Work Visa approval by Immigration NZ
Location: South Auckland
Contract Type: Waged, Full Time, Permanent (minimum of 30 hours/week – maximum 60 hours/week)
Work Hours: Morning Shift 6am – 1pm or Afternoon Shift 1pm – 8pm (Monday to Friday)
- Wages Details: $30 - 38 per hour


Role Duties In this role you will be responsible for carrying out on daily basis:

Always follow the Standard Operating Procedures – SOP (when applicable)
Ensure repairs meet expectations of quality, timeframe and quantity
Understand and meet role's daily targets and performance expectations
Perform repairs in accurate and timely manner according to industry standards and working practises
Read and understand the requirements recorded on the Job Card before commencing any repairs
Follow job instructions on the Job Card or from the Foreman (if unsure – discuss with the Foreman)
Endeavour to complete all tasks within specified timeframe and report to the Foreman any delays
At the start of your workday prepare all equipment and tools required for your daily activities and tasks
Inspect the panels and surfaces before starting the repairs and report to the Foreman any issues
Remove damaged panels and components by unbolting or cutting them away (if required)
Repair damaged body panels with appropriate tools and equipment to restore vehicles to factory clearances
Cut and join replacement sections or damaged panels using correct welding procedures
Repair dents with plastic fillers, and file, grind and sand repaired surfaces using power and hand tools
Fit the repaired panels on the framework of the vehicle and refit body hardware, such as door locks and door trims, etc.
Realign chassis and body frames using chassis aligners and measuring systems
Remove and replace damaged mechanical items (if required)
Remove and replace auto-electric components (if required)
Help vehicle body builders to build custom-designed, speciality or vintage vehicles
Mask specified areas to protect from abrading action
Carry out all required internal and underbody vehicle stripping and re-assembly to correct specifications and within the appropriate time-frames
Sandblast a surface off dirt, rust, old paint, grease and repair using appropriate tools and equipment, and prepare it for refinishing (if required)
Examine finished vehicle components to ensure conformance to specifications
Inspect repaired panels for any imperfections that will affect the quality of paint finish
Always conduct a Quality Check of the finished job to ensure the repairs are of high quality
Immediately report sub-standard repairs to Foreman
On job completion sign off the Job Card, report to Foreman and ask for the next task
Carry out all tasks to correct specifications and within the appropriate time-frames
Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order
Follow maintenance schedule and report any required repairs to Foreman
Assist in parts and vehicles pick-ups and deliveries (when required)
Ensure vehicles are tidily and neatly parked and organized in designated parking/storage area
Keep your work area clean and tidy at all times
Actively contribute to daily workshop cleaning
Maintain a clean and safe environment for all workers
Continually expand knowledge of the role, relevant products and services, by reading all communications and information
Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times
Report and record all accidents, incidents and near misses. Report all hazards or potential hazards
Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues and management
Ensure that you are fully conversant with Company Rules, Code of Ethics and Standard Operating Procedures and that you make yourself aware of any updates
Attend team meetings and training sessions during or outside working hours
Follow and carry out all reasonable instructions from Workshop Foreman and/or Branch Manager



Experience, Skills and Qualifications

5+ years of continuous experience in the Automotive Panel Beating
Relevant Trade Qualification, preferably NZ (or the ability to prove competency and experience)
Clean and valid Full Driver Licence
Able to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmission
Strong work ethics and quality workmanship
Strong commitment to Health and Safety guidelines
Good verbal and written command of English
High integrity and professionalism
Strong interpersonal skills
