Marlborough Boys' College – Blenheim, South Island
We are seeking an experienced painting & design teacher who:
has capabilities in painting and printmaking,
has an extensive knowledge of art-making practices and artist models,
is able to teach multi level classes (Y12–13),
is willing and able to teach various higher level painting techniques,
understands the need for individualised and personalised programmes to be available for young artists, especially in senior school,
demonstrates the subtleties in technical skills required for painting/printmaking and design at Level 3,
is clear about the design process including design principles, branding, graphic language,
has good knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign,
understands the new requirements 2024 for Level 1 art and is willing to support the existing programmes,
can manage the practical environment of an art room,
ideally, can make assessment judgements on folios for senior photography, painting, design and printmaking up to Level 3,
has experience with visual art moderation.
The successful applicant must hold current NZ Teaching Council registration and be familiar with the NZ Curriculum, the National Qualifications Framework and NCEA.
