Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the Role and ServiceThe Child Development team at Whangarei Hospital is looking to expand services for our tamariki and whanau in Te Tai Tokerau / Northland and are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our wonderful team. Ideally you will need to be available for permanent full-time, 40 hours per week between Monday – Friday. However, there may be some flexibility for the right candidates.What we do:We provide Occupational Therapy services as part of a wide multi-disciplinary team.We work alongside children and whanau to achieve their life goals and aspirations.Provide therapy, equipment and housing solutions.Work with whanau in the community (home based visits), and onsite clinics.Early intervention focused including Early intervention services in schools and preschools as part of the child's team.About youSkills & ExperienceRelevant Occupational Therapy Qualification.Current Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand (OTBNZ).Previous experience in Paediatrics and/or neurological rehabilitation is highly desirable.Aware of Occupational Therapy theory and principles of practice.Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team and establish and maintain working relationships between staff and clients.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
