Our talented team members embody these mindsets and are passionate about making a difference at T&G.About the OpportunityWe are seeking a motivated and experienced Packhouse Team Leader to join our dynamic team at the Whakatu Packhouse in Hastings. This role will play a key part in ensuring smooth shift operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a dedicated team to meet packing requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on operational excellence, people leadership, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.About the Job:Lead and manage shift operations to achieve production goals and ensure smooth handovers between shifts.Supervise and support a packhouse shift of approximately 100 people, ensuring effective training, performance management, and adherence to safety standards.Maintain high-quality, hygiene, and food safety standards across all operations.Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock handling and proper storage procedures.Foster a culture of continuous improvement by developing staff through ongoing training and guidance.Lead health and safety initiatives to minimize incidents and maintain a safe working environment.Provide regular operational reports to management to ensure informed decision-making.Hours of workThe typical hours are: Day Shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and Afternoon Shift from 2:30 PM to 12:00 AM, with the possibility of Saturday shifts and extended 10-hour shifts during peak season.About youPrevious leadership experience in a production or packhouse environment.Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, as well as quality control standards.Excellent communication and team management skills.Ability to manage operational performance and address issues efficiently.Experience with inventory management and relevant software is a plus.Proof of eligibility to work in New Zealand is required for all applicants; we are not able to sponsor visa applications for this position.
