Pacific Learning Specialist

Position: General, Pacific Learning SpecialistSubjects: Learning languages, Science, Social sciences, Te reo Maori, The artsWe are looking for a passionate teacher who is a fluent speaker of at least one Pacific language with cultural competency and knowledge of Pacific cultural practices to join our Learning and Public Programme team.The successful candidate will have working experience and a passion for Pacific education and Pacific knowledge to develop and deliver our Pacific learning programmes. This role will grow the delivery to Pacific education settings.You will be able to demonstrate experience in growing relationships across Pacific education settings and communities, a relevant tertiary degree in education and/or museum studies, or a related field, working knowledge of the New Zealand education system and key policy documents such as the New Zealand Curriculum refresh, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, Aotearoa Histories, Action Plan for Pacific Education 2020 to 2030, Tapasa, Ka Hikitia, Tataiako, Ministry statement of strategic intent and the new key web-based resources such as Tahurangi. You will have expertise in developing and delivering education programmes within a GLAM institution and two to three years' experience in the education and/or GLAM education sectors.
