Auckland Council's Local Boards has an opportunity for a permanent PA/Office Manager to join the Kaipatiki and Devonport-Takapuna Local Board team. This role will report directly to the Local Area Manager and will be based at both the Takapuna and Glenfield offices.
Local Boards play a significant role, working across communities with their focus on arts & culture, community services, parks and recreation, economic development, the environment, and infrastructure.
In this role you will directly support our elected local board members, the Local Area Manager and at times will demonstrate flexibility to work across the unit and with our community partners.
You can expect to:
Provide comprehensive office management and administrative support.
Work closely with the Local Board Chairs of the Kaipatiki and Devonport-Takapuna Local Boards on local issues.
Manage the logistics for community engagement and local board run events.
Provide timely responses to residents, community groups & external organisations.
Your background will demonstrate previous experience in similar administration support, office management or personal assistant roles that have provided you with the ability to juggle and prioritise tasks.
Excellent political acumen or awareness as well as experience in interacting and building relationships with a wide range of people, including with elected members, senior managers, and members of the public would be beneficial to this role.
You will be well-presented and personable, demonstrating a level of confidence and determination to keep the wheels moving, while remaining unwaveringly calm under pressure. As a motivated team player, you enjoy providing high level professional secretarial, administrative and coordination services that support the work programmes and aspirations of our communities.
We are specifically looking for experience:
Within large, complex and potentially political organisations
Senior administrative support, office management, personal assistant, or similar roles.
