As the Oyster Farm Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our oyster farming operations. This includes overseeing staff, maintaining equipment, ensuring product quality, and optimizing farm productivity. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our farm adheres to the highest standards of sustainability and efficiency.As a key player in the WMF oyster operations farming team, the incumbent willcontribute to the Key outcomes of the team which are:o the application of best practice oyster husbandry to ensure oyster survivorship isoptimized (from spat through to market size), and oyster growth rates andconditioning targets are achieved.o This involves meticulous oyster spat handling and grading, well planned gradingand stocking management from the juvenile stage through to maturity,o Effective disease management at all points in the oyster growth cycle, which isessential to obtain oyster survivorship levelso Efficient harvesting of oysters at maturity and throughout the oyster growthcycleSpecific Duties undertaken by the Manager will include: o Staff management including staff training, daily staff planning and oversighto Harvest and stock- out planning and execution, including compliance with allcompany policies in terms of weather risk management, pre and post trip reporting and all health, safety and regulatory requirements in respect to on-water operations.o Farm stock management, to ensure accurate recording and mapping of all on-farm stocks are maintained, on a Lease-by-Lease basis, by stock category, by cohort, by grade.o Barge and Equipment Maintenance, including compliance with all company andregulatory maintenance schedules and requirementso Farm maintenance, attending to all necessary farm maintenance requirementso Regulatory requirements, maintain awareness' and compliance with allregulatory requirements.o Any other matters pertaining to Farm Operations, as determined by FarmOperations Manager and/or Company General Managero Liaison and communication, including with, the Land Operations Manager, theFactory Processing Manager and the Farm Operations Manager.Health and safety:Health and Safety both on the water and at the land base is of paramount importance,therefore, an understanding and compliance with all Company Health and Safety policies andprocedures are essential.
