We are one of Christchurch's coolest. most unique and popular outdoor entertainment venues renting out blokarts (land yachts) and electric drift karts.
This is a truly unique position, one which will equip you with a great array of skills and experiences plus we are the only operator with our offer worldwide. Key tasks and duties include: Taking bookings Meeting and greeting customers Delivering safety briefings and instruction in the operation of both karts Setting sailing courses for blokarts Setting up all equipment Managing sessions in a safe manner, maximising the customer's experience Fitting of safety equipment Track and equipment maintenance Organising group activities To be successful in this role, you will need: A positive approach to people and providing exceptional customer service to be a clear communicator A friendly, patient personality to interact positively with a wide range of customers and assist them to overcome any anxiety Ability to teach and instruct and take corrective steps Good physical fitness to push stalled customers and lift equipment (up to 25kg) Practical skills for tyre changing, minor repairs, etc A strong commitment to safety Confidence and assertiveness when managing the pressure of dealing with large groups of people Excellent decision making and organisational skills A well developed work ethic Ability to react quickly in a dynamic environment
This role could be ideal for students studying sport/outdoor recreation/ coaching, people who love the Outdoors or anyone with a background in sailing/yachting, etc. A first aid qualification is also desirable.
Work will be on Saturdays and/or Sundays plus some weekday afternoons, especially Thursday and Fridays and to a lesser extent Mondays to Wednesdays. More hours will be available over the Summer, so applicants will need to be available to work during their University breaks, particularly November to February. We operate all year round and can generally offer additional afternoon work that may fit around a students study commitments. Candidates with weekend only availability should not apply.
