Details of the offer

Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District
Location: Level 1, 113 Adelaide Road, Mt Cook, Wellington
Service: OTS, Tuhonohono - Addiction Services
Contract: Full-Time (1 FTE) & Permanent
Salary: MECA Dependent - Step 1 to Step 8.
Korero mo te turanga - About the role
We are looking for a Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist to join our Opioid Treatment Service (OTS). The role of the OTS is to provide substitution medications alongside support for social and mental health needs.
We are a community-based team that works with people who experience opioid dependence and the hazards and harms associated with this. The team conducts comprehensive assessments of opioid use, other addiction issues, mental health difficulties, physical health difficulties, social needs, and cultural needs. If substitution is indicated then people are administered substitution medications, initially at our clinic and then at community pharmacies. Once people are taking substitution medication our Case Managers meet with them regularly to check the safety of the medications and ensure that other recovery goals are progressing.
We have stable staffing levels and good workflow management and this means that our caseloads are half the national average for an OTS service. These low caseloads mean that staff are able to be very intentional when working with people, take on other roles of interest within the service, and work on their professional development goals.

We are dedicated to staff development and run specialist in-service training, cultural supervision, and comprehensive orientation packages.
