Our style of play has been developed over a number of years and is now part of the game at all levels across the region. If you are a coach passionate about rugby and the 'Otago style' then the Otago Rugby Football Union (ORFU) invites your application for the position of Otago NPC Assistant Coach.
This position will be primarily responsible for assisting the development of the Otago NPC squad for 2024 by providing defence expertise and leadership that contributes to achieving the goals set for the team. There is also the opportunity for a suitably qualified applicant to assist the implementation of ORFU's community coaching strategy by delivering sessions and mentoring that support and further develop our local coaches.
The successful candidate will have either proven first-class, significant club or representative coaching experience.
On and off-field skills required include:
A high level of understanding of the game of rugby, with significant defence expertiseLeadershipStrategic thinking and planningTactical and technical coaching (for the team and individual)High Performance player and coach developmentThis role requires a high level of passion, initiative and commitment and is a rare opportunity to enhance the development and success of rugby in Otago.
