Positions available: (you can apply for one or both! ) Term Time Assistant (16.25 hours/week @ $23.65/hour or $24.00/hour with a childcare/teaching qualification) Holiday Programme Supervisor (40 hours/week (minimum) during school holidays @ $24.95/hour or $25.80/hour with a childcare/teaching qualification) Our Term Time position is fixed term until April 2025, while our Holiday Programme position is permanent and continuing past this date. Our Aim: To meet the needs of families in the wider Blenheim community by providing a secure, stimulating, consistent, professional, and caring environment for their school-aged children. Bread of Life OSCAR (Out of School Care and Recreation) is a group-based programme. We provide Before School, After School, and Holiday programmes in a safe, stimulating, caring, and comfortable environment, considering children's individual needs. The programme is not highly structured but does include one planned activity each session. During holidays, the programme is structured with many activities to give variety for the children. Art and craft materials, games for different ages, and sports equipment are all available. Activities are well supervised, whether indoor or outdoor, and a quiet rest space is available for those children wishing to do homework or have time out. The Supervisor is responsible for the planning and running of daily activities at the programme, implementing Health & Safety, staff management, etc. The Assistant is responsible for implementing the plans organized by the Supervisor and the operation of the After School Programme, including assisting with the supervision of the care and recreational activities for children. Both positions will receive full internal and onsite training as well as a First Aid Course. Desirable applicants should: Have relevant qualifications and/or experience working with children aged between 5 - 13 years old. Have the ability to deal with challenging behaviour. Be aged 20 or over. Be trustworthy and reliable. Have the ability to work in and contribute to a team. Be approachable and confident interacting with children, parents, and other staff.
