As a key member of our orthopaedic services, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to the Nelson-Marlborough region.
About you: The successful candidate will:
Provide comprehensive orthopaedic care, including consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for trauma and elective cases.Perform surgical interventions with precision and a commitment to patient safety.Participate in the on-call roster to manage acute orthopaedic emergencies.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the department's clinical governance.Provide teaching and mentorship to junior doctors and medical students.Stay up to date with advancements in orthopaedic care and bring innovative practices to the department.Skills and experience Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons or equivalent.Eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate with a vocational scope of Orthopaedic Surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand.Proven expertise in both trauma and elective orthopaedic procedures.Sub specialty interest in any of the following would be an asset: upper limb arthroplasty, Spine, or Paediatrics.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with patients and colleagues.Commitment to teamwork, patient-centred care, and continuous professional development.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health NZ is 'the weaving of wellnesses.'
