Mo te tunga About the roleOrthopaedicsis a busy service that provides both acute and planned care to the populationof Canterbury and the wider region. We areseeking a highly motivated and organized Orthopaedic Sarcoma Coordinator / Clinical Administrator to join our team. This role can be based at Christchurch or BurwoodHospital.As anOrthopaedic Sarcoma Coordinator / Clinical Administrator, you will play a pivotalrole in managing the booking processes for outpatient clinic appointments,elective outpatient / inpatient admissions and provide administration / coordination support to the Health NZ Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury MDM and goals of the Southern Cancer NetworkProgramme. You willwork closely with Consultants, Team Leader, Service Manager, and ClinicalDirector / Triaging Clinician to ensure patients receive timely treatment withinestablished guidelines. As part ofthe Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role hasbeen mapped to National Band 5 / Profile 5C. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy. Standardize processes using the SI PICS system and Waitaha Canterbury Elective Services Guidelines. Prioritize patient bookings based on need and planned care requirements. Manage surgical list utilization as agreed with surgeons and service managers. Outpatient clinic bookings. Coding and date entry of relevant patient information. Arrange and coordinate Orthopaedic MDM and work with the MDM Chairperson to ensure they are run in accordance with the MDM terms of reference. Process Orthopaedic Sarcoma referrals. Actively collaborate and network with MDM co-ordinators across the South Island.Nga pukengame nga wheako Skills and experienceEssential : Possess excellent communication skills and ability to engage at an advanced level. Demonstrated data entry skills and experience. Excellent customer service skills - people focused Accuratedictaphone typist skills and ability to understand medical terminology. Technicallysavvy - quick at picking up new applications / systems. Excellentorganisational, time management and problem solving skills with a willingnessto undertake training. Abilityto achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail. Abilityto meet deadlines and work unsupervised. Ateam player. Intermediateto advanced user in the Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel. Excellentkeyboard skills. Highlevel of written and verbal communication skills. Demonstratedperceptiveness and a proactive approach in an administrator role.Desired : Demonstratedexperience working in a demanding environment with clinical teams and or MDMenvironment. Demonstratedknowledge of information systems used in the health sector. Demonstratedexperience in data collection and collation. Experienceof hospital systems including SIPICS, HCS preferred. Experienceworking in the cancer sector and understanding about Faster Cancer treatmentprogram. Broadadministrative experience in a health-related field Awarenessof people of differing cultural backgrounds. Commitmentto standards of excellence and service improvement. Demonstratedexperience organising, coordinating and facilitating meeting includingknowledge on audio-visual and video conference technology.
