About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for two full-time and experienced Orchard Supervisors to join our Gisborne team. You will be working alongside an experienced Orchard Management team to ensure we get the job done and we get it done right.
As Orchard Supervisor, your key focus will be to supervise and train orchard teams in their day-to-day duties, effectively plan tasks with your orchard manager, carry out orchard maintenance where required, and motivate and supervise orchard teams in the field to achieve quality results.
In addition to this, you will ensure that all Health & Safety and compliance requirements are met, ensuring all our seasonal requirements are facilitated to the highest possible standard.
What we're looking for
Extensive experience (min 2+ years) in a horticulture or orchard supervisory role
A keen interest in kiwifruit and learning all on-orchard tasks
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Excellent time management and organizational skills
A good level of physical fitness and able to work outdoors
Strong initiative to work unsupervised at times
Flexibility to work sometimes long hours including weekends
Relevant qualifications in horticulture or a related field would be an advantage
