Sybton Horticulture Limited is a horticulture company based in Opotiki in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, managing kiwifruit and avocado crops. We have approximately 70 employees year-round, majority of our employees are permanent, with the aim to not only grow our business but to grow our people within our community.We are currently searching for a new Orchard Supervisor to assist with our Opotiki operations. We are looking for someone with previous experience in an orchard supervisor role or similar, that can hit the ground running!The role of Orchard Supervisor is a key function at Sybton Horticulture focused on ensuring operational functions across all orchards are completed to a high standard, in a timely manner, and are in line with seasonal demands. This role requires the ability to understand how to gain the best outcomes from employees through motivating, coaching and leading staff. Having a positive attitude and a passion for the Kiwifruit industry will be essential within this role.Other attributes that are required include:Must be eligible to work in NZ,Must have your own reliable transport,Previous experience in an orchard supervisor role or similar position, Strong communication skills, particularly verbal, as well as great active listening skills,Knowledge of good horticulture practices,A formal horticulture training qualification would be beneficial but not essential,The ability to confidently lead a team, Having proven knowledge of health and safety requirements/obstacles on the orchard, Being reliable, self-motivated, and a team player, Being computer literate and having the ability to use electronic time keeping programs, Having the ability to engage, develop and maintain relationships with staff and external contractors/suppliers.Sybton is a growing company, which means we can offer career growth opportunities for the right candidate as we continue to expand.
