We have opportunities available for Oral Health Therapists to work as part of our professional and supportive Community Oral Health Service covering the Southern region. We will support you into practice, ensuring you are comfortable and confident in your development as an Oral Health Therapist.
Mo te turanga - About the role
You will be responsible for maintaining the oral health of children in our region, educating children and their families on oral health and the prevention of dental disease. You will recognise, diagnose and treat oral abnormalities and disease within your scope of practice.
You will work alongside a Dental Assistant as part of a supportive and friendly team who is committed to delivering quality health services for our tamariki.
Mou ake - About you
We are looking for enthusiastic team-players who are keen to grow their knowledge and skills with a proactive approach towards learning. Excellent communication, natural empathy for children and great interpersonal skills are essential.
You will need to have the flexibility to be able to cover occasional rostered evening shifts and work in other clinics throughout the region, which may require short stays away from home.
We are looking for people with a great understanding of pae ora, equity, and providing a service that upholds our obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Registration or be able to gain registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand as an Oral Health Therapist
A current APC or the ability to apply for one
A full clean NZ driver's license.

This role belongs to the DHBs/PSA Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and currently falls between Step 1 ($77,087) to Step 7 ($107,600) p.a pro-rata.
