This is an exciting opportunity to apply for the position of Ophthalmology Registrar for next year commencing in February and/or August 2025. The Ophthalmology Department offers supportive working conditions and is committed to excellent teaching.
About us:Hawke's Bay Hospital is a 364-bed hospital providing acute and elective care for the Hawke's Bay region. We have most major medical and surgical subspecialties on site (except cardiothoracic and neurosurgery), as well as paediatrics and O&G. We are well supported by a strong regional ICU team. We have strengthening Primary and Community health services and an increasingly integrated approach to health and health care.
About our team:Working within a team of 5 Registrars, you will have the full support of 3 Specialist Consultants and work closely with 1 House Officer. While enjoying a wide variety of inpatient cases, you will also be expected to attend Outpatients and work in the Surgical Ward, Operating Theatre, Acute Admissions Unit, and the Emergency Department. There may also be some need to attend outpatient clinics in peripheral units within Hawke's Bay.
About you:Our ideal candidate will have:
Suitable for Resident Medical Officers who will be PGY3 or above.
Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
