Our client, a small but dynamic civil construction company based in Horowhenua, is seeking an Operator Foreman to oversee small to medium-sized site civil construction projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment and enjoys the challenge of managing both operations and people.About the Role:As an Operator Foreman, you will primarily be operating a 6T excavator, but your role will also involve supervising and overseeing the day-to-day operations on site. You'll be responsible for coordinating and leading a small team, ensuring that projects run smoothly and safely, while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity. This is a varied role where you will take ownership of small to medium civil construction projects, working across both residential and commercial sites.You will need to be hands-on, supporting your team with physical tasks on-site when necessary. No two days are the same – one day you could be operating machinery, the next you could be supervising or assisting with site prep, depending on the needs of the project. There will also be times when weekend or night shifts are required, along with the possibility of occasional out-of-town work.We Are Looking for Someone Who:Has proven experience as an excavator operator and supervising small teams on site.Holds a valid Class 2, 4, or 5 driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.Has experience in civil construction, specifically managing or overseeing site operations.Is physically fit and able to pitch in with manual labour as required.Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to manage a small team while keeping projects on track.Has a solid understanding of health and safety standards in a construction setting.Is adaptable, with the ability to work weekends, nights, and occasionally travel out of town.Enjoys a varied role and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.What We Offer:Competitive pay with opportunities for overtime.A hands-on, leadership role where you can make a real impact.The chance to oversee and lead exciting residential and commercial construction projects.A supportive team environment with room for growth and development.If you're an experienced and reliable Operator with a passion for leadership and a "Good Bugger" attitude, we'd love to hear from you!
