About the role The Centre for Applied Science and Primary Industries is currently recruiting for a full-time permanent 37.5 hours per week position of Operations Support Technician. The successful applicant will be working at the Wintec – City Campus / Horticulture Education Centre (Hamilton Gardens) and the Rotokauri Campus. The primary responsibility of the Technician is to accurately maintain the Centre's asset register and to ensure that health and safety requirements are met, as well as supporting related teaching requirements. Are you an ideal candidate? The Technician will be responsible for: Asset Auditing: Co-ordinating the planning, maintenance, ordering, training, and advising asset management for the Centre's specialist equipment and practical teaching resources. Meeting Health and Safety requirements: Rendering support with the hazard management process, understanding and reporting new hazards and work accidents, assisting with asset management maintenance and record-keeping, and shared administration duties, as well as ensuring teaching staff are maintaining health and safety practices. Assisting tutorial staff: Acquiring resources needed for theoretical and practical classes. Preferred personal attributes: An Asset Management/Health and Safety related qualification or industry experience. A valid NZ motor vehicle licence. High level of computer literacy with particular proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Well organized with high level of accuracy in data entry and attention to detail.
