About you At Whanganui District Council, we pride ourselves on our "Customer First" culture. We are looking for someone who is: Passionate about providing exceptional customer service. Experienced in administration and data entry. Able to operate under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Possessing strong time management and organisational skills. Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances. Friendly and approachable, with a good sense of humour. An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Proficient in computer applications (intermediate level). Experienced with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role. About the Role: As an Operational Support Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our water, wastewater, storm water and transportation services. Your primary focus will be providing outstanding customer services while managing customer expectations, supporting operational activities and carrying out administrative duties. Your efforts will directly contribute to the delivery of high-quality services to our community. Key Responsibilities: Provide essential administrative support to the operations team. Serve as the primary interface between customers, contractors, and the team. Handle phone and email inquiries from customers in a professional and timely manner Utilise a variety of information to offer accurate advice and services. Collaborate effectively within a team environment to enhance the customer experience. This permanent, full-time position, (Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm), is based at our office at 179 St Hill Street. How to apply Interested?
