Mutual respect drives our family's long-term involvement in the produce industry, so we make it our business to know what our customers want from us and deliver it.What You'll Do:As an Operations Support Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our operations team by developing, implementing, and optimising processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and compliance. This role combines operational and administrative responsibilities with a focus on continuous improvement to enhance team performance and outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesContinues ImprovementCollaborate with managers to identify and implement productivity-enhancing strategies.Partner with the Business Intelligence team to develop KPIs and targets to measure productivity metrics.Analyse costs and assess ROI for machinery and equipment purchases.Maintain and update an operational dashboard to capture relevant KPIs.Compliance and Health and SafetyImplement and enforce health and safety policies on behalf of the operations team.Ensure all accidents are reported, investigated, and appropriate actions are taken.Lead monthly Health & Safety meetings, track progress, and implement agreed initiatives.Ensure all subcontractors are inducted and compliant with FDL's Health and Safety and Food Safety Policies, completing all necessary disclosures and paperwork.Audit contractors' insurance, health, and safety practices for compliance.Oversee all Safe Food Pro activities onsite.Ensure all monitoring systems and alarms are operational and responded to promptly.Collaborate with the Compliance Team to ensure adherence to SOPs within the Operations Team.Administrative and Accounts SupportMonitor, approve, and manage queries for department invoices, coordinating with accounts payable as required.Generate external charges as needed (e.g. subcontracting of labour, subleasing of facilities/warehouse).Coordinate in conjunction with the appropriate Manager(s) mobile phone requirements for the team.Provide administrative support to operational teams as needed.Organise destruction of import goods as per BACC - Ensure destruction certificates are received and circulated to relevant parties.Facilities, Maintenance & ProcurementOversee and maintain the property maintenance calendar, tracking incidents, repairs, and scheduled tasks.Manage and track service contractors to ensure timely maintenance, compliance, and operational efficiency across all facilities.Manage procurement of facilities-related products as delegated.Coordinate and manage external contractors (e.g. cleaners), ensuring all tasks are completed as assigned.Manage Building Warrant of Fitness (BWoF) renewals and maintain up-to-date BWoF folders, conducting monthly checks and addressing any issues.Escalate operational issues related to the Auckland Market café to the appropriate contractors.Ensure operational property insurance requirements are current and compliant.Perform additional duties as assigned.TrainingCoordinate training renewals, including licensing and certifications, ensuring proper record-keeping of all training documentation.Verify that all SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) training is completed by relevant staff.Ensure adequate training and coverage of Health & Safety Representatives, First Aiders, and Fire Wardens across all shifts.Conduct staff inductions and oversee onboarding processes.Develop and update SOPs as required.What You'll Bring:Proven integrity and professionalism in all aspects of work.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in task execution.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams.Highly organised, efficient, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.Energetic and self-motivated, consistently driving tasks to completion.Familiarity with contractor management processes and practices is an advantage.Why Fresh Direct?At Fresh Direct Limited, we value innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth.
