Production, Planning & Scheduling (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)Local Government (Government & Defence)Auckland Transport is leading the development of transport infrastructure and solutions that enable healthy and accessible communities.Regardless of your choice to walk, cycle, drive, take the ferry or train, we are passionate about working together to deliver safe, efficient, innovative and sustainable options whilst providing a transport system that will create a vibrant and connected Auckland.We are on a journey and working to shape our organisation through an ambitious transformation programme providing for more climate-resilient, effective, and efficient AT.Transitioning Auckland's transport network on such a mammoth scale is no mean feat and we need a talented team to ensure we are up to this task.Currently, we are seeking an Operations Planning Manager to lead, motivate and empower a team to deliver the public transport services that enable the growth and enhancement of Auckland's public transport (PT) network.This particular team manages PT timetables, schedules and other elements of detailed services operations design including run-time and peak vehicle requirement. With a deep understanding of PT performance and operations, this role collaborates with the planning and service operations functions, helping the planning and implementation of service changes.Te Whiwhinga mahi- The opportunity:Leading and engaging the team, ensuring the effective management of the team by providing feedback and coaching, discussing personal development plans and opportunities for growthWorking alongside the team on a rolling review of network performance in terms of patronage, capacity, resource utilisation and customer experienceOverseeing the team responsible for producing timetables, peak vehicle requirements (PVR) and optimising schedulesWorking closely with Service Network Development team to schedule and timetable future service improvements and agree these with bus and ferry service operatorsDiscussing customer, operational and design criteria with teams across AT to make sure requirements are considered in development of new or improved timetables and schedulesWorking with internal teams to identify and prioritise what review, analysis and timetable/schedule creation are required, and checking the progress of current developmentGuiding analysts on their approach to a set of proposed timetables to make sure business requirements are understood, proposed outcomes will be effective and key principles and methodologies are being used appropriatelyMinimum Requirements:A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics or relatedTen years of experience in an analytics role or service delivery and performance management roleLeading an analytical team in a political or highly complex environmentsManaging relationships with senior stakeholdersAt AT, we embrace inclusion and fully support building a diverse workplace where people come first and we feel safe, respected, valued and supported, inclusive of our differences.Our values are more than just words - they are integral to everything we do:Tiakitanga - Safe with usIn addition, we also offer:Investment in your professional development and trainingOpportunity for greater leadership and accountabilityModern CBD (Wynyard Quarter) waterfront-based officePaid parental and partner leaveStudy assistanceHealth and wellbeing benefitsProfessional memberships.AT recognises that you might be perfect for this role even if you don't have all the requirements above.
