Operations Manager – Te Tai Tokerau
Whangarei based full-time role
Do you have a passion for making a difference? Do you want to help change the lives of at-risk young people?
About Kia Puawai
We are a tangata Tiriti NGO which specialises in providing therapeutic services for tamariki, rangatahi and whanau who have complex behavioural and/or mental health needs. We provide services throughout Aotearoa.
Our innovative approach combines Western evidence-based models with matauranga Maori and Pasifika knowledge. We work in a trauma informed way that acknowledges the impacts of colonisation for tangata whenua and indigenous peoples of Te Moana Nui a Kiwa, including how and why members of these communities may require our services.
As a tangata Tiriti organisation, we have a commitment to He Whakaputanga and to meeting our obligations to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We strive to deliver equitable outcomes through the designing and delivery of effective and appropriate services for tangata whenua and Pasifika.
Kia Puawai is currently looking for an inspiring manager to lead our established Te Tai Tokerau operations. You will lead the Te Tai Tokerau based site and assume responsibility for the delivery of all services, within approved budgets, for the Te Tai Tokerau region.
Your financial acumen and contract management expertise combined with your ability to build and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships, will ensure your success in this role. You will understand the importance of maintaining fidelity of evidence-based models and you will be relentless in your pursuit of continuous improvement.
Our ideal candidate for this role will:
Be a people leader as we are a people business.
Have a reputation for building committed and high performing teams through effective communication, coaching, and development.
Hold a tertiary qualification in Social Services, Mental Health or another related discipline, preferably combined with a business or management qualification or equivalent management experience.
Have significant established relationships within the local community.
Uphold the mana of our organisation through tikanga Maori in all interactions.
Bring a passion for working with tamariki, rangatahi, and whanau.
Possess knowledge and understanding about the impacts of colonisation for tangata whenua, and for Aotearoa New Zealand.
Have the ability and willingness to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Be willing to travel from time to time, due to the geographic spread of the region.
It's an exciting time to join us and you will have the opportunity to really make this role your own, so apply now!
Please note that we review applications as we receive these and we may remove the advert before the closing date if we find a suitable candidate.
We welcome and encourage diversity and inclusion in our workforce and adhere to best practice equal employment opportunity principles in all aspects of our recruitment and our ways of working. Kia Puawai is Rainbow Tick accredited.
