Operations Manager - Joinery

Job Overview Our client is a Timaru based joinery company that works alongside a small group of architects/designers and commercial builders, supporting them to deliver a range of both commercial construction fit outs and other residential projects. To maintain that position they have invested in new technologies and have built a small high performing team that has a real passion for delivering excellence and looking for continuous improvements. A focus on quality, premium service and uncompromised delivery has led to them developing a strong reputation that brings them repeat business as the preferred supplier. Role Description This is a new role that is part of their succession planning. While offering a leadership role in helping manage the day-to-day operations, it will work with the Managing Director to take a broader role in developing new business opportunities and ensuring smooth project delivery with builders. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations of the joinery company. Develop new business opportunities. Collaborate with builders to ensure smooth project delivery. Engage with a full range of suppliers and customers. Problem solve and find solutions as part of the team. Qualifications We are looking for experienced individuals who have initially trained as a Joiner but want to develop and take on a broader business management role. Candidates should be: Good with people. Proactive and able to respond to situations as they arise. Efficient and detail-focused. Skilled in building relationships with clients.
