When nature thrives, we all thrive.This role presents a unique opportunity to join DOC, leading a passionate operations delivery team working across the extraordinary natural landscapes of Tongariro National Park.You will lead a team of supervisors and specialists that together deliver work programmes focused on Biodiversity, Heritage & Visitors and Community.
The Tongariro District is also home to some bespoke programmes given its unique location, including ski fields, local bodies, and volcanology.Key aspects of the role include:Leadership, fostering a high-performance culture through empowerment, mentoring, and team development.Strategy and planning, ensuring achievement of the highest priority conservation work at place.Operational excellence, championing a strong health and safety culture, continuous improvement, and achievement of operating disciplines to standard.Engagement with Tiriti Partners.We are seeking an exceptional leader with a proven track record managing large, multi-site operational teams in complex environments.
You will be strategic and solution-focused, with a keen risk radar and the ability to influence a broad stakeholder base to deliver priority conservation outcomes.Your ability to inspire and motivate your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture will be key, along with your resilience and ability to thrive in times of change and ambiguity.Spanning diverse natural landscapes with multiple Tiriti Partners, this role requires a leader who can effectively engage and partner with iwi, hapu, and whanau to achieve conservation outcomes.DOC places importance on developing a culture where everyone can participate, thrive, and grow.
