Tranzit is an award-winning transport and tourism provider operating throughout NZ and we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our Central operation based in Whanganui. You will lead a team of 50 drivers across Whanganui and our satellite depots in Ohakune and Taumarunui. We offer a variety of services including Ministry of Education school runs, urban and charter services.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations, leading and supporting our team of drivers and operational staff through thorough communication, ensuring we provide excellent service, and we deliver on every promise we make to our customers.
This is a fast-paced, exciting industry and this position will suit someone who thrives on change and quick, methodical decision making. Your task will be to ensure our network is functioning at all times, work hours can vary due to the nature of our industry with management support after hours as and when required.
You will be responsible for: Fostering a positive, proactive H&S culture, whilst ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.Managing day-to-day branch operations.Managing network delivery and reliability.Rostering our Fleet and Drivers.Fleet Management and Maintenance.Providing support and leadership for our friendly team of drivers and operations team.Supporting our client relationships by exceeding customer needs, ensuring top quality delivery of our services.To be successful you should have: Proven experience in an operational role in a team leader/supervisor capacity.A positive, pragmatic and well-balanced approach to problem solving, and decision making.Ability to work under pressure.Advanced technical skills and willingness to adapt to new technology.A current class 2 and 4 drivers' licence with the ability to gain a Passenger endorsement (if you don't have one already!).Transport industry experience is a must.What can we offer?
