EPL is a 100% New Zealand owned manufacturing company specializing in polymer extrusion and injection moulding. Their capabilities cover both product design, development, and manufacturing, in traditional and sustainable material. They are currently after an experienced Operations Manager to join their team.
About the Role
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational activities across four key areas: Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Development. This role ensures that these departments work cohesively to meet the company's strategic objectives, drive efficiency, and maintain the highest standards of quality and innovation. The Operations Manager will report directly to the CEO and manage three direct reports (Production Manager, Engineering Manager, Supply Chain Manager) ensuring alignment with the company's vision and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management: Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production is running efficiently with minimal downtime.
Process Optimization: Analyze production workflows and use lean manufacturing principles to optimize production.
Project Management: Oversee all engineering projects from concept to completion, driving innovation and ensuring projects are completed within scope and budget.
Supply Chain Management: Oversee a comprehensive supply chain strategy, managing procurement, inventory and vendor relationships.
Product Development: Work with the product development team to ensure new products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all specifications.
Strategic planning and Budgeting: Contribute to the company's strategic planning, develop and manage the operations budget, and monitor performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).
Leadership: Manage and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Skills, Competencies and Experience
Tertiary Qualification, preferably Engineering related
Business Management Qualification
5 years at Senior Management Level
Excellent Written, Verbal and Mathematical Ability
High level of computer competency including ERP systems
Highly trained and experienced in all aspects of Health and Safety
