General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)
Ngamanawa Incorporation seeks a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee and support key projects and operations across our diverse portfolio, including environmental conservation, accommodation and hospitality, forestry, and horticulture. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong commitment to Taiao conservation and Maori enterprise, experience in project and budget management, and a collaborative approach to engage with stakeholders, our Maori partnership entities, including Hapu, Iwi, local communities, energy partners, and shareholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support & Development Lead and support the development of our shareholder accommodation offerings, ensuring alignment with environmental and cultural values.
Deliver key funding projects focused on environmental conservation, promoting long-term sustainability and guardianship (Kaitiakitanga) of land and resources.
Shareholder Engagement & Communication Oversee the planning and execution of shareholder events to foster active engagement.
Drive the development and maintenance of the Incorporation's website to enhance shareholder communication and engagement.
Community & School Engagement Build and sustain relationships with local communities and schools to support the next generation's involvement in Taiao conservation and Kaitiakitanga practices.
Financial & Budget Management Develop, manage, and deliver budgets in line with organizational targets.
Monitor financial performance, providing regular updates and reports to the general manager and board of directors.
Develop a structured annual operational plan with clear objectives, timelines, and budget considerations.
Operational Reporting & Planning Prepare monthly operational reports, providing insights and performance summaries for board review.
Lead the creation and execution of an annual operational plan, ensuring alignment with the Incorporation's goals.
Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with energy partners, Maori entity partners, Hapu, and other key stakeholders to foster collaborative efforts across shared initiatives.
Support ongoing conservation and environmental stewardship work, maintaining the Incorporation's role as a leader in Te Taiao.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in Taiao conservation and environmental stewardship.
Knowledge and experience in forestry and horticulture sectors.
Management experience, ideally within a Maori enterprise context.
Strong background in managing teams and leading operational projects within budgetary constraints.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including iwi, hapu, and other Maori stakeholders.
Skills: Strong operational management, financial acumen, with experience in budget creation and reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on stakeholder engagement.
Effective project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Maori enterprise and knowledge of Maori land governance structures.
Business management.
Familiarity with Taiao conservation efforts.
