About the RoleThis role calls for an experienced and inspiring people leader with a successful track record in leading large, distributed operational teams.
Our work programmes are diverse, fast-paced, and ambitious, so your ability to foster and enhance team wellbeing and culture through strong engagement, guidance and ongoing development will be critical to your success in this role.
Strong critical-thinking skills will help you manage strategic and operational demands across a vast region. You'll work closely with delivery teams and leaders within the DOC ecosystem to solve issues, adapt to challenges, and find solutions.
Your confidence and commitment to building and strengthening partnerships with mana whenua, iwi, hapu, and whanau, and understanding your role in the Crown-Maori relationship, will be key to achieving united conservation outcomes.
Bring your understanding of tikanga Maori, kaitiakitanga, wairuatanga, manaakitanga, and iwi / haputanga to this pivotal role.
Your proven relationship management skills will enable you to engage confidently and work in partnership with iwi and tangata whenua.
Spanning diverse landscapes with multiple Tiriti Partners, this role requires a leader who not only feels comfortable but also embodies the spirit and willingness to drive change from a Crown-Maori perspective.
