Management (Community Services & Development)Seeking Operations and Engagement ManagerFull-time permanent employment: 40 hours$70,720 - 80,720 salary range dependent on experienceBudget for professional development and external supervision, wellbeing allowance, working from home allowance and remote working options.Location: Wellington - Te Whanganui-a-TaraInsideOUT Koaro are seeking an Operations and Engagement manager for our organisation which works to create safer schools and communities for LGBTQI+ and takatapui young people.As InsideOUT Koaro's Operations and Engagement Manager, you will oversee and support our National Operations team to maintain our daily organisational processes and deliver against our annual plan and strategy.You will assist the Managing Director and the Board with responsibilities to the wider InsideOUT Koaro team through arranging organisation-wide professional development opportunities, supporting the development of policies and processes and health and safety compliance.The key responsibilities of this role are:Direct management and support of our Communications Coordinator, Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator, Funding and Finance Coordinator, Schools Campaign Coordinator and Shift Hui Coordinator (4 permanent staff, 1 part-time contractor)Supporting recruitment, hiring, induction, professional development, performance reviews and exit interviews for your team membersCoordinate organisation-wide professional development, with support from relevant staff where applicableAssist in HR processes, including helping the organisation's processes remain legally compliant, and ensuring that health and safety regulations are followed.Oversee operational processes, including assisting with our audit and ensuring we are meeting deadlines for applications, reportbacks, payroll and external payments.Take part in relevant training, meetings or other tasks to support InsideOUT's journey towards continuing to honour Te Tiriti o WaitangiSupport InsideOUT and your team to deliver on the annual plan and strategic planSupport the establishment of processes and procedures to help the organisation work effectively.Essential Skills and Experience:Strong knowledge of rainbow communities and the challenges facing rangatahi in schools, including those at the intersections of different minority experiencesStrong understanding of intersectionality, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Maori and ability to put this into practiceCommitment to InsideOUT Koaro's responsibility to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi in our workManagement or leadership experience, ideally in a community settingAble to self manage and take initiativeAdministrative skills, in particular using digital tools such as Xero, Google Suite, Zoom, Salesforce or other CMR/database systemsCommunication skills (written and verbal)Excellent people skills, emotional intelligence, good judgement, ability to be calm and discrete, ability to respond effectively to feedback and deliver feedbackExperience with stakeholder engagement/external relationship buildingAbility to give and receive constructive feedbackExperience with financial administration HR tasksA proven ability to motivate and inspire staffExperience with written reporting on your workExperience writing policies or process guidelinesFamiliarity with youth work in AotearoaInsideOUT is a growing organisation that works to support youth, whanau, schools, community groups, youth services, government agencies and other relevant organisations to provide safer schools and communities for rainbow young people.
