About the Opportunity
As an Operational Logistics Specialist, working within our Fonterra Logistics Execution team based in Hamilton, you will thrive in a fast-paced and busy environment where no two days are the same.
With strong attention to detail, you will deliver world-class logistics services including order fulfilment, vessel assignment, packing capacity, and balance transport and resource utilization.
Working closely with the Distribution Centre Managers and other key supply chain stakeholders, you ensure everyone is up to date with plan and network changes.
Key accountabilities include:

Managing the coordination of logistics resources to fulfil customer orders.
End-to-end accountability for scheduling and execution of orders and deliveries.
Building and delivering a schedule for efficient planning of the Distribution Centre, packing, storage, transport, and third-party resources within agreed tolerances.

This is a fixed term opportunity starting on the 4th of November 2024 and ending on the 14th of February 2025. Our team works throughout the Christmas period, so the successful candidate will need to be available over this time.
About You
In this varied and high-speed role, you will enjoy providing exceptional customer service and working towards tight deadlines.
Ideally, you will have some understanding of logistics or supply chain principles and have worked with the SAP system before.
You'll be joining a supportive and dedicated team where you can learn from others and gain exposure across New Zealand's largest supply chain network.
Skills and Experience:

Strong communicator who can liaise with a varied group of stakeholders.
Great time management skills and ability to cope under pressure.
Ability to prioritise tasks when workload is high.
Ability to multitask and deal with an ever-changing environment.
Previous experience in the supply chain or logistics fundamentals is beneficial but not essential.
Ability to problem-solve and manage exceptions.
Experience in SAP and MS Office Suite is highly advantageous.
