The Role - Charity Store Manager (Fixed term, parental leave cover) - Habitat for Humanity, Hastings Habitat for Humanity's ReStores provide vital funds that help drive Habitat's programmes and housing initiatives.
Use your management and sales or operations experience for good – raising funds for Habitat for Humanity, as it works towards a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
We're seeking a ReStore Manager to continue growing Habitat's charity store business in Hastings.
We need you to be confident, articulate, and able to make smart and informed decisions on the spot resulting in excellent customer and donor experiences.
You could come with a retail or trader background - in a charity store, back of house is just as important as the front, so tell us about your strengths.
Lifting a couch, dressing a window, making a connection with a corporate donor, and analysing sales data are parts of your average Tuesday.
Throw in plenty of good laughs, probably some kind of blindside and definitely a curious donation and you've got the picture of an awesomely normal ReStore day.
If you think you could balance that with motivating and managing a diverse and enthusiastic crew of local volunteers while providing exceptional customer service, please apply.
Knowledge of Trademe or the second-hand/charity store sector is an advantage.
You'll also need to be computer savvy – use of POS software, Microsoft, Salesforce, and other apps and tech is daily for ReStore managers.
We don't mind if you need training with this, as long as it doesn't scare you.
The ReStore is part of a cluster of eight stores, and a network of more than 20 nationwide with strong peer and senior management support.
The ReStore operates Monday to Saturday.
Weekend work may be required, and a degree of physical strength is an advantage due to heavy lifting of donated goods.
This is a Fixed term role to cover parental leave from the beginning of September 2024 to mid March 2025.
