At He Whanau Manaaki Kindergartens, we have over 108 kindergartens across the regions we serve, bringing learning, connection, and fun to families across Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also provide a home-based service - Etu Ao in Porirua and Levin.

More than 6,000 children now attend one of Whanau Manaaki's 108 kindergartens and around 150 children are enrolled with our Pasifika-focused Etu Ao homebased service.

Community description
The kindergarten is situated in the suburb of Khandallah, a close commuting distance to the central business district of Wellington. The kindergarten community is made up of a diverse group of whanau, from the local neighbourhood, and who come from all walks of life. The kindergarten embraces a high level of support through whanau involvement and is considered a hub within the community.

Position Overview
This role is a permanent part-time teacher (.8 Teacher) worked over 32 hours per week:

0.8 WP: 32hrs/wk
Mon 8hrs (8.00am - 4.30pm inc 1/2hr unpaid break)
Tue 8hrs (8.00am - 4.30pm inc 1/2hr unpaid break)
Wed 5hrs (11.00am - 4.30pm inc 1/2hr unpaid break)
Thu 8hrs (8.00am - 4.30pm inc 1/2hr unpaid break)
Fri 3hrs (11.30am - 2.30pm)

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Kaiako to join the Onslow team who:
is a reflective and innovative practitioner who is confident to share new thinkingdemonstrates their commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and actively promotes te reo me nga tikanga Maoriis responsive to the needs of all children in a busy mixed aged settingwill support and contribute to designing localised curriculum.
