The purpose of the role is to provide effective, high-quality administrative and technical support to the ORC's Legal Counsel.As an Official Information & Legal Support Advisor, you will be responsible for:Providing advice and assistance with procurement as well as drafting contractsBuilding relationships with staff to understand departmental needs and provide support with complianceEfficient and accurate administrative support to Legal CounselCoordinating and responding to LGOIMA and Privacy Act requestsIf you are interested in a varied role working across all facets of council, with training and support available to develop your knowledge of local government legislation, then this is the role for you!About YouOur ideal candidate will have:Experience providing legal support in a complex environmentAn understanding of local government legislation and/or procurement processesAbility to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines, combined with great attention to detailConfidence in providing training to staff on compliance responsibilitiesA Bachelor of Laws or a related subject or Legal Executive Diploma is preferred but not essentialHigh School qualifications to year 13 is essential, along with experience working with databases and computers, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work in a complex environment and deal with ambiguity.What we offerWe recognise and celebrate diversity within Team ORC and are committed to providing a work environment that supports inclusion and equal opportunities.
