We are seeking an Official Information and Delegations Advisor to join our Legal Team and oversee and lead the provision of information by the Council pursuant to the Local Government Official Information, and Meetings Act 1987 and the Privacy Act 2002, and provide support, advice, and training to ensure statutory compliance within the organisation.What I do?Lead staff through regulations and legislation in relation to LGOIMA requests while meeting legal requirements.You will have the autonomy to identify areas where changes are required to improve procedures within the organisation.Resolve information related complaints including liaising with the office of the Ombudsman and Privacy Commissioner in relation to, complaints, investigations, and provision of information.Oversight and administration of Council's delegations register to ensure that delegations for roles within Council are accurate and legislatively compliant.What I bring?Tertiary or other qualification demonstrating analysis, and communication skills.Relevant experience in a law firm, local government or government department.Team player and keen to learn and grow within the role.We are an organisation embracing flexible working.
