Join our Macraes Environment team! If you're a recent graduate, or looking to utilize your skills across the Environmental Mining sector, this role could be for you!
You will implement robust monitoring and reporting systems in order to demonstrate compliance with consent conditions, statutory acts & regulations to sustain OceanaGold's "Social Licence to Operate".
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in audits on company standards (environmental and safety) as required.
Conduct environmental inspections.
Coordinate and assist in the monitoring and reporting of environmental impacts e.g. noise, water quality, air quality and ecology, including maintaining and calibration of monitoring equipment.
Preparing and reviewing management plans in conjunction with the relevant departments to ensure consent and legal compliance.
Ensuring site awareness of regulatory and statutory obligations through day-to-day interaction and specific training and awareness.
Capturing relevant data into the Environmental database and take responsibility for its integrity.
Assisting with the preparation and writing of compliance reports as directed.
Identifying and implementing Environmental improvements.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a tertiary qualification in Environmental or Earth Sciences, Resource Management or similar.
Full and Current Driver License is essential and an ability to drive 4WD and manual vehicles is preferred.
Data management systems and software (e.g. PI Vision, SCADA, InViron, Power BI) an advantage.
An understanding of water chemistry, hydrology, geochemistry and/or ecological management.
Resource Management Act or Wildlife Authorities knowledge.
