Office Management (Administration & Office Support) Compass Ltd, (trading as Compass Seminars) was established 1999 by directors Craig and Rosalind McKenzie to fill a gap in the market for regionally based high quality professional development training for people working in the child, youth and family focused helping sector(s).
Compass delivers a number of short course professional development events every year across 13 geographic regions throughout New Zealand and also sells a range of related books and resources in relation to key topic areas.
Compass is recognised as New Zealand's leading private training provider in this industry.
Our trainers are sourced from New Zealand and internationally and our database contains over 25,000 customer contacts.
Compass is managed by its directors, with the essential input of a small and committed administrative team.
This administrator role is open for an immediate start following the departure of the valued long term incumbent and we are seeking an experienced, self-motivated administrative superstar to take over this secure role and make it their own.

Throughout it's 25 years of operation the company office has been run from a suburban studio, close to the New Plymouth CBD.
Offering a relaxed but professional and well-resourced work environment (set in park like surroundings) with free staff car parking onsite.
In line with current employment trends, we are offering flexibility for the right applicant, and the final hours can be negotiated to be anything between 30-40 hours per week based on the appointeres situation and preferences.
There is also potential for some of the functions of the role to be performed from home on occasion if the successful applicant wishes to do so.
A competitive salary package will be negotiated based upon the successful applicants' skills, experience and final agreed hours of work.
Core Responsibilities of the Position: General administrative support of Compass Seminars operations , including but not limited to: Coordinating and timetabling event marketing campaigns and delegate communications.
Registration management, invoicing/receipting, database maintenance Assisting with event preparation including: Resource development, formatting, and production Venue booking and coordintation Presenter schdeduling and liasion Website and online platform content management Managing point of sale software  Stock management, ordering and mail order distribution.

Customer service (primarily phone and email/web based).

Maintenance of working relationships with key suppliers and providers of support services for the company  6.
Any other related administrative activities that may arise and match up with the appointees interests and skills.
Person Specifics The appointee will be an experienced administrator with high attention to detail and accuracy in all areas of their work.
They will have an ability to quickly learn new systems and software and once orientated will enjoy working relatively autonomously in the execution of their responsibilities.
They will also have excellent customer service skills and a 'can do' attitude towards problem solving.
They will also require:  A sound knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
As well as Gmail and Zoom.
Touch typing skills (preferred but not essential) Drivers licence An ability to quickly learn new systems and electronic applications The ability to work independently when required Knowledge of the software applications Xero, Arlo, Lightspeed and Zoom is not essential but would be a definite advantage.
Position Specifics Location: The appointee will principally be based in our New Plymouth office (with potential to do some work from home on occasion if desired) Hours of Work: Negotiable between 25-40 hours a week.
A permanent contract is being offered.
Holiday entitlement will be in line with the provisions of the Holidays Act.
Remuneration: A competitivesalary will be negotiated based upon the appointee's skills and experience.
