About the role As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in helping patients maximise their functional independence. You will work closely as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored rehabilitation services and support patients through their healthcare journey.
The working hours are between 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday with no weekend on-call.

About you: Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough assessments to determine patients' needs and creating individualized treatment plans.Delivering therapy and interventions to improve patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities.Educating patients and their families on strategies for enhancing daily living activities and promoting overall well-being.Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure cohesive, comprehensive care.Keeping accurate records and tracking patients' progress throughout their treatment journey.Skills and experience To succeed in this role, apart from holding NZ registration in Occupational Therapy and a current practising certificate, you should:
Have a strong foundation in occupational therapy practices, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.Have experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.Have the ability to work independently in a small team with a commitment to provide high standards of patient care.Have strong communication and teamwork skills.Be competent with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Have experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health NZ is 'the weaving of wellnesses'.
