Service: Kenepuru Community ORA Team - Older Adults, Rehabilitation and Allied Health (ORA)
Contract: Permanent, Part Time (0.6FTE / 24 hours per week)
The Kenepuru Community ORA Team is excited to advertise the opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our service.
This role is community-based, working within an interdisciplinary team that collaborates to support patients through equipment, housing modification, and rehabilitation solutions to maximize their independence at home.
The FTE for this role is negotiable, starting at a minimum of 0.6 permanent FTE (24 hours), with the ability to increase hours on a fixed-term basis anywhere up to 40 hrs for those looking for a fuller working week from the outset (additional hours could be made permanent in the long term once approved).
The ORA Community Services work with people with acquired neurological, long-term, or age-related conditions including stroke, dementia, frailty, and post-trauma conditions.
The teams are multidisciplinary, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech-language Therapists, Social Workers, Dietitians, Liaison Nurses, and Allied Health Assistants, with close links with Nurse Practitioners, Geriatricians, and a Rehabilitation Physician.
We offer ongoing professional development opportunities including inter-professional practice training, professional support, profession-specific training through the relevant professional leaders, and clinical supervision.
Cultural professional supervision is available from Maori and Pacific Health teams.
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is a team player and has a broad range of skills with an interest in working in a community setting.
Occupational Therapists in our team assist individuals and families to work towards their rehabilitation goals as well as provide assessment and advice for equipment, wheeled mobility, and housing modification to best support their needs.
An understanding of Enable processes would be a strong advantage.
You will have sound clinical skills and experience working with older adults and thrive in a team environment.
We require you to bring your holistic skills, enthusiasm, and passion to achieve the best outcome for your patients.
You will have current registration/APC and a current New Zealand driver's license.
You will be able to demonstrate the ability to build rapport with patients and whanau from all backgrounds and have a clear understanding of the health needs of our Maori and Pacific Island communities.
