Job Description - Occupational Therapist - Morrinsville / Paeroa (HAM01585) Where you'll be working:Morrinsville / Paeroa Community
The details: Permanent Part time – 40 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE)
Do you have an Occupational Therapy qualification and registration with the OT Board of New Zealand? If so we are looking for an Occupational Therapist | Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau to join our team.
Te whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityThis position can be based at our Morrinsville or Paeroa community base. You'll provide high quality interventions to our community predominantly in and around the Paeroa/Waihi area. You will provide quality assessment and deliver safe and effective interventions to support our clients to live as independently as possible. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will manage your own caseload and wait list.
Ideally candidates will be Enable housing and wheelchair level 1 accredited, however training will be provided for successful candidates if required.
Key Responsibilities:Meaningful support and orientation to your practice with robust opportunities for critical reflection on practice, including peer review and professional supervision.On the job training with continuous improvement and development opportunities including a well-established in-service training programme.A great team environment and supportive work culture.Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role:At least 12 months post qualification experience and ideally experience with the Ministry of Health funding process, however will consider new graduate OTs.Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice.Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills.Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting.Allied Health is a department of the Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services. Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with. Allied Health staff work in partnership with individuals and their family/whanau to facilitate relationships and a smooth journey through the healthcare system.
