About the Service We are a specialist Kaupapa Maori service for Maori between the ages of 18 to 65 years, who are experiencing symptoms suggestive of psychosis or schizophrenia. We are culturally and clinically responsive to the needs of Whaiora and their Whanau through the stages of their journey.
About the Role We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team based in Whangarei. The role provides a high quality and effective occupational therapy service which supports rehabilitation and recovery for inpatients, outpatients and community clients, promoting independence, safety, self-determination, individual and family wellbeing.
About you Preferred applicants will:
Have an interest in working in the mental health and addiction sectorBe registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand, with a current practising certificateHold a current NZ driver's licenceCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
