About the mahi (role)
Are you an experienced vocational clinician or looking to develop your skills in the vocational area? Then we want to hear from you!
We have an opening for an Occupational Therapist to join our busy Taranaki team. We currently have a team of OT's working on a range of ACC contracts. With a mix of work, we are keen to bring on someone to support mainly with our vocational contracts, both private and ACC. There is opportunity to grow in areas of interest also and we hold several assessment contracts also.
We cover the greater Taranaki region and have a satellite clinic in Hawera. You will be working with a range of professionals across our multidisciplinary team which includes physiotherapists, exercise therapist, hand therapist, pain specialist, psychologist, dietician, clinical pharmacist.
With extensive training and mentoring depending on experience, the successful candidate will be required to provide a wide variety of different Well At Work services within the Taranaki region, particularly working with key businesses to assist in the prevention and management of pain, discomfort and injury in their workplaces.
You will be able to manage your diary autonomously to help achieve a good work/life balance . Work will be from the New Plymouth Clinic, a variety of employers, and within the community. You will have the flexibility to work from home from time to time.
The role will include:
Completing workplace assessments for return to work following illness or injury.
Providing patient education, training, treatment, and rehabilitation in a variety of community and workplace settings.
Liaising with external partners such as specialists, general practitioners, and employers to ensure smooth rehabilitation for the client.
You will have the flexibility to complete administration and documentation tasks from home.
In this role, you will be supported by the Clinic Manager and will be a key member of our strong team. We are a close-knit and hard-working group who enjoy regular social events and have a passion for the outdoors.

About you
The applicant requires a minimum of 2-years clinical experience . A post-graduate qualification in the occupational health/vocational rehabilitation field would be an advantage to the applicant however not essential. It is expected that the successful applicant would be willing to work towards a post-graduate qualification.
Substantial orientation, training and support will be provided.
