Job Description
About the Mahi (Role)
We have an opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join the Gisborne clinic.
You will report to the Clinic Manager and will be a key member of our Vocational Rehabilitation and Hospital and Community teams for the Gisborne and Te Tairawhiti region.
We support a variety of clients who have ACC, Insured, or Private conditions through an integrated care approach. We have ACC contracts including Integrated Care Pathway, Vocational Rehab Services, Pain Management, and Training for Independence. We also provide Early Intervention to nationwide businesses such as Countdown, Downer, Department of Conservation, and Ministry of Social Development staff.
You will be passionate about improving health equity in rehabilitation and supporting clients in their recovery.
A good understanding of te reo Maori, tikanga, and cultural safety or someone keen to progress their understanding and learning of te ao Maori would be sought after. In the Te Tairawhiti region, the Maori population is around 45% so we are passionate about improving access and providing a quality service both clinically and culturally to Maori in the region.
Ideally, you will be able to work full-time (40 hours per week). However, we can offer flexibility in work hours for the right candidate.

About the Gisborne Team
Our Gisborne team consists of Physiotherapists, Exercise Consultant, and our Clinic Administrators. We work closely with Orthopaedic and Medical Specialists, Counsellor, Psychologist, and Clinical Pharmacist to provide high-quality integrated care for our clients.
Be part of a team that has achieved some great things in the equity space as well. They continue to increase the cultural capability of the team and build new networks in the community with Maori health providers and local iwi.
As part of the Gisborne team, you will be working within a beautiful, modern clinic with quality rehab equipment to support various clients. Our clinic is situated close to the Balance Street Village which includes two great cafes, Village Berry Ice Cream, Pharmacy 53, and Neighbourhood Pizzeria. Gisborne and the East Coast can offer you fantastic surfing, and an outdoor lifestyle which brings a great work-life balance!

Desired Skills and Experience
About You
This is a clinical role, therefore you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
Our ideal candidate will have at least two years of clinical experience in New Zealand.
Experience in vocational rehabilitation or a post-graduate qualification would be an advantage to the applicant, however not essential.
Substantial orientation, training, and support will be provided.
