We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to work with our amazing multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, speech-language therapists, and art therapists.
About the role: We seek a NZ registered Occupational Therapist who is enthusiastic and committed, a self-starter, and an innovative team player to join our friendly team on a part-time contractor basis. The position may involve travel for contract therapy sessions, school and home visits, and will include group work and individual therapy sessions at the Kidz Therapy centre in Morningside, Auckland. This is an exciting opportunity to work flexible contract hours with future growth and development of our OT services expected.
Key Skills and Abilities: A family-centred approach.At least three years post-graduate experience.Clinical experience and uses evidence-informed practice for a wide range of children aged 3 plus.Must have a sound knowledge of children's developmental abilities and how to best support children to meet their potential.The ability to provide services to a wide range of children and presenting issues should include but not be limited to: sensory processing assessments and follow-up self-regulation therapy, fine and gross motor assessments and therapy, sequential motor skills, and promotion of social skills.Ability to facilitate small groups in areas such as improvement of handwriting skills and promoting self-organisational skills is also desirable as well as a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.Current driver's licence.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a 'can-do' approach.This position would best suit someone who does not currently run their own private practice, although working part-time in a government or other private agency is welcomed alongside this role. Alternatively, the role may appeal to someone looking to reduce their work hours or making a return to the workforce after a break.
